thursday thanks

Taking time to reflect on God’s goodness, no matter the circumstances.

I’m thankful for:

  • Thunder showers in the early morning, with sunshine before Joe has to leave for work.
  • Joe having a job today.
  • A husband who reads the Bible with me.
  • Having food, shelter and clothing, even if it’s not the ideal food, shelter, and/or clothing.
  • Loving and generous parents.
  • Discomfort, because it means there is a healthy life being formed.
  • Being trusted to raise a precious little life.
  • An apartment being built specifically for us.
  • Friends and family who give their time.
  • People who pray.
  • My church family.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 “Give thanks in all circumstances for this is the will of God concerning you.”

  1. We dream of building a debt free home one day and I find encouragement in your posts. Is family building your apartment just for you where you’ll be able to stay and save money? When is your baby due? With our first baby we got into an apartment exactly 2 weeks before delivery (we had been living with family during most of the 2nd and third trimester).

    • Alicia,

The apartment is being build as a result of a couple of things
      – we need a place to live and this is the only option the Lord is making available to us
      – my parents have wanted to do this, but haven’t had the finances or the motivation until now. we are assisting them financially in their project in exchange for a place to live, and they are motivated by the arrival of a grandchild with no home. haha.

Baby is due July 2. It is our first so I’m praying it will be late! Or just that I would be content with God’s timing of the things that are coming together.
